• Alternate Character Interpretation: It has been suggested that the Studio Audience, easily prompted and directed by the various hosts (and Farley Flavors), might have been something of a commentary on Rocky Horror audiences.
  • Likewise, thanks to Wild Mass Guessing, some fans of the movie now consider Cosmo and Nation to simply be Riff Raff and Magenta in disguise.
• Crowning Music of Awesome: "Shock Treatment", of course. "Look What I Did To My Id" and "Breakin' Out" also get special mention.
  • "Bitchin' in The Kitchen" is often a favorite for Refuge in Audacity, depicting materialistic consumers of The Eighties empathizing with their appliances more than each other.
• Genius Bonus: "Remember Lt. Orpheus? He disappeared into that Underworld show."
• Hilarious in Hindsight: At heart, this is about what we now would call reality TV.
• Magnificent Bastard: Farley Flavors. In the end he doesn't get Janet, but he gets the good guys tossed out of the taping and proceeds to successfully turn his charms on the ambitious Macy and save the show, and it's safe to assume his media empire will continue to grow.
• Replacement Scrappy: Hardly anyone liked Jessica Harper as Janet. Elevated levels of bitchiness aside, compare Susan Sarandon's soft, smooth soprano singing voice to that of Harper, whose considerably deeper contralto tone made her sound like a man on more than one occasion.
  • There's actually quite a few who do like Jessica. While Susan was the perfect Janet for Rocky and has a sweet voice, Jessica is a far better singer and a solid actress in her own right. Listen to her solo "Old Souls" in the amazing Phantom of the Paradise. Her voice is absolutely beautiful in its unusual depth. Those who don't like her tend to be those who don't like Shocky - for the same reason. They expect it to be the same as Rocky.
  • Jessica has quite a lot of fans in the Rocky community, for both Shocky and Phantom - especially now that she did a Barry Bostwick-esque turn, and has learned to embrace her RHPS fan base rather than shun it.
• Retroactive Recognition: Rik Mayall as "Rest Home" Ricky.
