Sonic the Hedgehog CD/Fridge

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Fridge Logic

  • Amy Rose is on the Little Planet... How exactly did she get there?--Akamia
    • The manual claims Amy went with Sonic to see the Little Planet but she got kidnapped by Metal Sonic and taken there. You don't see this scene in the intro to the game and while the game itself has a scene of Amy being snatched by Metal Sonic, it happens in Collision Chaos, where they're already on the Little Planet, so honestly, your guess is as goodas mine.--Mighty Kombat
  • When Sonic sees the Little Planet, it's covered in metal. I would think that the Past and Good Future would have the sky visible, but in the Present it is even before the generator in the past is destroyed, and why is it visible in the Bad Future at all? --Gaston Rabbit
    • Possibly Gameplay and Story Segregation for the most part, but for some stages, that can be explained away as Sonic standing on top of the metal the Little Planet is covered in. However, the D.A. Garden shows Little Planet in all it's glory (or lack thereof) and there's little to no metal covering the place at all. The metal covering was only shown in the full-motion videos. Knowing what we know about the stages themselves, the D.A. Garden rendering of Little Planet might be the more accurate depiction of the place.
      • You could be right. The D.A. Garden is probably what it actually looks like and I'd imagine the version of it covered in metal was from concept art or something. --Gaston Rabbit

Fridge Brilliance

  • Out-of-universe; Although the soundtracks were different in the original versions of the game (Japanese and US), there is something to be taken with the US soundtrack. The Past tracks, which are shared, represent what was originally going to be in every version of the game. The Present represents what changed through No Export for You-esque circumstances, and the Futures represent that the changes were persistent and will evolve, as the Sonic Gems Collection shows. (Not implying that Gems changed the music. Just noting that it has a version of Sonic CD on it. And it was released after Sonic CD, therefore, the future.)--Akamia
    • Better than that. It also hints that somewhere along the way, there was a Split Timeline event, which after the Past, changed the music for the Present and Future.
