[[BioshockBioShock (series)]] has plenty to offer every fear. If you're afraid of the dark, people sneaking up on you, babbling madness, disfigurement, creepy monotone children, dystopian society, or even BEES, then this game has something in store for you. And it usually also involves heavy use of shadows and environmental noises.

You can hear ''them'' crawling in the shadows. Splicers. You don't know how many or what kind. They're just moving around, waiting, watching, talking in their own incoherent ramblings. Occasionally, one skirts the edge of the spotlight, flashing a leg or a claw. You can shoot randomly into the darkness, but there's no guarantee it'll hit. And then, when they finally decide to move, they move en masse. And all you can do is run...
