:Arguably subverted/averted, as Kyoko knows that Walpurgisnacht is dire and wants to do something special while they are all still alive. The sheer peril they are going to be facing is actually why Kyoko cares so much. At what point, if any, are survival and duty less important than ''enjoying life''?
* [[Sliding Scale of Free Will Versus Fate]]: Prophecies are often correct but not always. One diviner (Haruka) asserted that prophecies shouldn't blindly be taken as the inevitable future. Which is a pretty darn natural thing to conclude if you have visions of mutually exclusive futures (i.e. dieing in different ways). Another character said that prophecies can be defied, but what it takes to defy the prophecy is not consistent. If that character is right, then where a prophecy is on the scale is not universal throughout the work (although some like [[You Can't Fight Fate]] are never the case).
