Work Needs Tropes
* Author Existence Failure:
* Alternate Timeline: The story of White Knight still continues in the future as it keeps on getting sent through the microwave. Despite the change of Teppei premiering the story, it continues in the future, suggesting that his actions have led to an alternate timeline.
* Art Attacker: Joked when Aino attacks Teppei with a G-pen as she chases after the frightened mangaka. She was actually trying to get him to see how used it was as a pen.
* Lightning Can Do Anything: The lighting that struck the microwave changed it into a time machine to deliver future issues of Shonen Jump.
* Plagiarism in Fiction: Thinking it was all some sort of fantasy, Teppei drew and submitted White Knight while not realizing he plagiarized the work until after the fact.
* Our Time Machine Is Different: A melted microwave with a robot on top and a fridge on the bottom can receive issues of Shonen Jump from 2030.
* My God What Have I Done?: After realizing that he plagiarized the manga. He understands what he has done, which makes him want to stop making the manga.
* Point of No Return: Referenced by Teppei when he realizes how the microwave is still sending issues to the present. After realizing his plagiarization, he has a meeting with Muneoka, Teppei's new editor, where he convinces him to continue working on it as a series. The editor also shows all the fan mail had gotten, which convinces him to pursue making more chapters.
* Reality Ensues: Teppei after being forced down by Aino with the G-pen inching closer to his eye. He reveals the truth about where he got the story, but the girl doesn't believe him. The truth is so strange that it is rather unbelievable, which later causes her to think of it as a coincidence.
* The Rival: Aino states after having a rather brash meeting with Teppei that they are rivals and that she will make a better manga than White Knight.
* Rivals Team Up: Aino becomes a part of the manga team to gain more experience as a mangaka. Ironically, she is working on the manga that she would have been the mangaka for in the alternate timeline if it wasn't for Teppei doing White Knight first.
* The Pen Is Mightier: Joked with when Aino confronts Teppei, she uses a G-pen and looks to be brandishing it as a weapon while chasing him while accusing him of stealing her story. In truth, she was actually just showing the detail of the tool being used.
* Reason Why You Suck Speech: Kisuke, the editor of Shonen Jump, gives one to Teppei out of frustration. He states how the mangaka has no talent as his storyboards might as well be blank paper but gets correct when questioned by the editor-in-chief. This statement is taken back after White Knight becomes published in the new issue of Shonen Jump.
