They had, among other things, lasers, floating vehicles and monuments, and massive machines. A [[Heroic Sacrifice]] prevented a cataclysm from destroying the entire civilization, but sealed it off from the outside world; by the time visitors find it again around World War I's time, it has regressed terribly, and almost all that tech has been lost.
