He simply wants it because his sister wants it. It's implied the two have had a petty rivalry like this since they were siblings; even as an adult, Gemini constantly reminds her that he is four minutes older than she is.

For example, in one episode the Hero Girls are trying to find a replacement for Batgirl (long story) and Catwoman comes to apply - and quickly steals Jennifer’s paintbrush, Karen’s rinse set, and Zee’s paste jewelry - obviously she just wanted to humiliate them. Kara laughs at them for falling for such a ruse, only to discover that Catwoman also [[Impossible Thief| swiped the “S” on the front of her costume]].
