However, when the humiliated Archie finally gets to Veronica's house, Mr. Lodge recognizes it as an antique, offering Archie his own expensive modern snowmobile in exchange for it, plus $500 in spending money, plus the services of his chauffeur for the night. In the final scene of the story, Reggie is back at the dealer, begging him to pull the same scam on him.
