Line 230:
** On Stranger Tides is about an adventurous scoundrel who must form an uneasy alliance with his foes in a race to find the secret key to immortality.
*** And then the Big Bad chose... poorly.
* Dramatic Irony: In the first film, every single thing Elizabeth does as soon as she is brought on board the Black Pearl serves to convince Barbossa she is the child of Bootstrap Bill. In addition to having the medallion, and knowing enough about pirates to invoke parley, Elizabeth's threat to drop the medallion as well as stating that she knows they are looking for the medallion and revealing she saw the Pearl eight years ago causes Barbossa to visibly believe that she is Bootstrap's offspring. Elizabeth isn't and she only knew they were looking for it thanks to overhearing Pintel, but the decision to lie and say her name is Turner proves to be the last straw and her failure to give Barbossa a direct answer when he asks how she got the medallion, stating she didn't steal it, all serves to convince him she is the one he needs.
* Drop the Hammer
* The Drunken Sailor: Virtually everyone, unless all the rum is gone. Though, in interviews, the scriptwriters revealed Jack's inebriation is usually an act; he fakes being tipsy to throw his (numerous) enemies off their guard.
