Talk:Too Soon/Playing With

I see that this has been proposed for deletion, with this reason:

"PlayingWith" pages do not belong on pages that describe trivia rather than tropes.

Why should trivia pages not be played with?

Isn't AllTheTropes supposed to be similar to TVTropes! TVTropes deletes ("cuts") PlayingWith pages for Trivia!

So what? Why should we do that?

Also, is Too Soon really a trivia page? It's listed as being a Trope, not a Useful Note.

This and an identical nomination on What Could Have Been/Playing With were made almost a month ago by a user who otherwise hasn't made any other contributions to the wiki in a good 16 months. I've reverted both.

Why don't we have a policy similar to TVTropes though? I was on TVTropes (I was a member from about 2015, and I got permabanned ("bounced") in 2017) and I actually had cut ("cut" is what they call the action of deleting a page) requests for these kinds of pages accepted!

Be happy that I'm the first mod to see this - I never had an account at TV Tropes, so I don't get upset at questions asking why we aren't like TV Tropes.

If we wanted to be just like TV Tropes, the wikis would never have been forked in the first place. The mods at All The Tropes are moderators, not dictators - we don't force our opinions on others. (And when we discovered one mod was forcing his opinions on others, he lost his mod powers.) The Tropers here haven't expressed any displeasure at having Playing With subpages for less-serious tropes, so we let them stay.

Because we do not mindlessly copy what TVT does. What TVT does is never a consideration when it comes to our policies and guidelines; if it were we would never have forked in the first place.
