  • Creator Backlash: Wes Craven with The Hills Have Eyes Part II. He's kinder to The Hills Have Eyes 2 though (which he co-wrote with his son).
  • Dawson Casting: Brenda, in both versions. Presumably in her late teens, she's played by the then-25 Emilie De Ravin (remake) and then-30 Susan Lanier (original).
  • Hey, It's That Guy!: The remake features Buffalo Bill, Claire, and Pyro, to boot.
  • Money, Dear Boy: Wes Craven on the original's sequel: "I'm sorry for The Hills Have Eyes 2. I was broke, and really needed the work. I would have made 'Godzilla Goes to Paris'."
  • What Could Have Been: Mind Ripper did start life as an actual sequel, with the plot being that Pluto was the one being exploited by the army in the desert base which the film takes place in.
