The Lucky Dime Caper/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Alternate Character Interpretation: When Donald is sent on his quest, what he says depends on the game's version: in the prototype for the Master System version, he's afraid until Scrooge offers a reward; in the final version, he just goes after the dimes because Scrooge offers him a reward, and in the Game Gear version, Donald doesn't complain and later, Scrooge rewards him out of kindness.
  • Anticlimax Boss: The final boss is a glass ball with the Number One Dime inside. Despite the rains of thunder and bombs that Magica summons, the battle can be won in a couple of seconds. The Game Gear version fixes this by making the table tall and unreachable, so now it does feel more like a final battle.
  • Crowning Music of Awesome: Most of the game's music is very memorable.
  • Demonic Spiders: Scorpions move quickly and erratically on the ground. Moreover, there are areas where they randomly fall from baskets on the ceiling while you're platforming.
  • Game-Breaker: The hammer beats all of the bosses in like 4 hits, turning several of them into zero effort fights. The disc is weaker, but you can fire it from afar without worry of risking yourself. It's no wonder you have to put effort in to keep them through the levels.
  • Goddamned Bats:
    • The bat enemies suddenly swoop from high and move around in a sinewave pattern. Pay attention to the top of the screen, as offscreen bats are actually barely visible there.
    • There are three kinds of club-wielding guys at Andes Mountains, but they all look the same. You have to figure out what each one does as you go along and be careful to not approach them the wrong way.
  • The Problem with Licensed Games: Averted. Like the Mickey games, this is one of the classics of the Master System.
