- Acceptable Targets: Pretty much everything.
- Chaotic Neutral: Cody once called himself this.
- Ensemble Darkhorse: The hosts HATE everything about Saya no Uta... except for Dr. Tanbo, to the point where they decide that all bad anime would be better if it were part of a larger narrative about Tanbo's fight against the Nurse from Katawa Shoujo.
- As for people actually appearing on the show, Leigh Ann Williams has only recently started to appear in the podcast, but despite her limited appearances, she's greeted with acclaim from commenters.
- Fanon: "Dr. Tanbo vs. The Nurse" as well as the struggles of Dark Matter from Kirby being trapped in the body of Takao Kasuga while Hank Hill got reincarnated as Nakumura.
- He Panned It, Now He Sucks: Zac Bertschy of Anime News Network called Cody an anti-intellectual and a hipster after The Other Side panned Aku no Hana. What makes this funny is that the podcast mocked them in the previous episode and expected him to call them on that.
- And then again, though to a lesser extent, after the episode "Gaming Feminism", an episode that didn't relate to Zac Bertschy or his website at all, even though two episodes previously, they dedicated about two hours to how much Anime News Network sucks... disguised as an episode about Hitler's numerous appearances in Japanese media and the title of the podcast, written in German, translating to "Terrible News Network".
- True Art Is Incomprehensible: A notion that this podcast likes to shed a light on in one way or another, arguing that, most of the time, when a show tries to be "deep", the creators only end up creating heavily convoluted scenarios. Best exemplified in the episode "2Deep4U" as well as their discussions on Wolf's Rain.
- Also, beautifully taken apart when they ran Aku no Hana through the checklist at the beginning of Fenimore Cooper's Literary Offences.
