These are recommendations made by Tropers for Fan Fics, all of which have been signed. After a few samples, you will be able to judge whether you might be interested in the 'fic, based on who recommended it. No-name recommendations will be Zapped (wiki). Nobody would back up the rec. Discussion of the recommendation is welcome on the discussion page. As such discussion is important, do remember to add the discussion page to the watchlist, if need be.

Do warn when a fanfic may head into homosexual or non-canon territory. Some people just don't like it, and as we all know, Shipping is Serious Business.

General Fics

Stories focused on the family and the friendly relationships of the cast. Plot-focused stories or light day-in-the-life stories. Pretty much anything that isn't focused on romance.

The Stagrench Classes by Wolfram-and-Hart-Sauron

• Recommended by Korora
• Synopsis: At the Tempter Training College, class is in session. This fic delves into the devil's plans, and in similar spirit to C. S. Lewis' original.
• Comments: This troper has yet to find a deeper fanfic.
  • This troper found it lacked the wit of the original. And while The Screwtape Letters were never subtle, the fic is preachy.
  • I noticed the preachiness, but I found that to be part of its charm.

A Letter From Screwtape to Mr. Holland Manners by Honor H

• Recommended by Kirayoshi, Operation Shoestring
• Synopsis One of Wolfman and Hart's senior partners offers some advice on how to deal with this "Angel" creature...
• Comments One of the best crossovers this troper's ever read. An entertaining short piece set during the end of Angel's first season. The narrative voice rings as close to the original C. S. Lewis as you're liable to get, and provides some strong philosophical meat regarding the events of Angel: Season one(as well as some foreshadowing of Season two).
  • Operation Shoestring: The only rec here thus far that is actually in agreement with Lewis's work. Honor H being Christian probably has something to do with that.

Screwtape's Blog: Advice from a Veteran Demon by screwtapeblog

• Recommended by Angmar Bucket
• Synopsis: Screwtape's nephew avoids what was to be his punishment at the end of The Screwtape Letters, and the two demons return to their usual correspondence.
• Comments: Apparently incomplete, but given the blog format, it's not much of a problem. Screwtape's style here is better than most imitators, and the "rescue" of Wormwood was both amusing and satisfying. Each blog post possessing a subject title on the day's lesson was a cute touch.
  • Operation Shoestring: I'm going to have to disrec. The blog clearly contradicts Lewis's work on several points, and lacks anywhere near the depth of analysis the original had.
