I find Grimmification a poor name for the trope. My understanding is the Brothers Grimm bowdlerized what they published[1]. Sure they left the violence and gore in, but they took out the sex. They also made one of Hansel and Gretel's parents a step parent and made the actual one more reluctant to ditch the children. <div class="references-small"
