Transformers: Dark of the Moon/Trivia

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Doing It for the Art: Bay managed to get the entire city of Chicago to help them with filming the entire climax. Shia LaBeouf and the other cast members were in awe of how much access they had to the whole of the city on a daily basis. Plus the entire wingsuit sequence was put in after Bay saw a TV special on them, and they are actually flying between the skyscrapers wearing portable 3-D camera helmets.
  • Hey, It's That Guy!: Mearing bringing up "that night at Juanaco" with Simmons may be a nod to the fact that Frances McDormand and John Turturro are both alumni of Coen brothers' movies.
    • Lester Speight AKA "The Cole Train", AKA Terrible Terry Tate, Office Linebacker, as a member of the NEST team.
  • No Export for You: Hasbro cancelled the American release of the sixth wave of DOTM toys, including the much-anticipated Human Alliance Soundwave, due to low retailer demand. The cancelling of the line also means a Dino/Mirage toy is probably never coming.
  • What Could Have Been: Due to the released call sheets, it is highly suggested that Sentinel Prime was originally going to be called Ultra Magnus. Test screening however drove the change and Ultra Magnus' head was reused as what the Apollo 11 astronauts step on and uncover as they explore the ship. Considering his actions, this wouldn't be the first time this type of change has happened. [1]
  1. They didn't want Ultra Magnus' name be tarnished by association with a traitor, just like they didn't want Rodimus Prime's name be tarnished by association with a jerkass.
