  • The mechanic that Tuca wants to date in the season two premiere lampshades that she treats Bertie more like a significant other than a friend when getting a text from Speckle that Bertie is suffering a bad panic attack. It would certainly explain why Tuca was touched when Speckle told her that she's part of his and Bertie's family, and why Tuca freaks out when the pair consider buying a house in the suburbs. Tuca drives their "sex bus" to the restaurant, orders the mechanic to wait outside, and goes inside to assist. Once it's all calm, the mechanic refuses to finish the date with Tuca, telling her that her relationship with Bertie means that she's afraid to let others in her life. Tuca, in Never My Fault mode, represses a thought that Bertie is keeping her from being happy.
