On that same album was a song called "Halloween in Heaven," about all the dead musicians gathering together as a band. It even included the line: "If only I'd known how cool death is / I'd have killed myself sooner." Ouch...

Harsher in Hindsight / Hilarious in Hindsight: Considering how many of the band's songs are about death, including several songs in which Peter Steele predicts/anticipates his own death, much of the catalog carries an extra sting now that he's actually dead. (Particularly relevant example: "Two steps forward, three steps back. Without warning, heart attack.") On the other hand, this seems like exactly the kind of thing that would appeal to Steele's dark sense of humor, so it's a toss-up as to which trope this actually is.
Something which is definitely Harsher in Hindsight is the fact underneath the CD tray of World Coming Down, there is a view of the New York Skyline. Among which are the World Trade Centers. Considering the title of the album, and what would happen a few years later, the coincidence is very eerie. The various songs dealing with the fact that death is inevitable and can come out of nowhere does not help.

More Popular Spinoff: A partial example. Pete's earlier bands, the Thrash Metal band Carnivore and the Hard Rock band Fallout, are not as popular as Type O Negative.
