... because it lacks any and all markup, especially the minimum markup required to integrate it functionally and stylistically with the rest of the wiki.

Please resubmit the page using the "new work" prompt on the ATT Page Creator (which can be found either at that link or in the "Troping Utilities" section of the menu which appears along the left edge of every page) or using the Works Page boilerplate if you prefer to simply open an editor window and create the page from scratch. Either way will present you with a skeleton page containing all the required markup that a work page needs -- all you have to do is insert your content in and around the existing markup. To help you with this we suggest you read our Works Page Guidelines.

...but required moderator intervention to be usable: in neither case did the trope entry you created have proper link markup around the trope name, and in the case of your edit to the work page, you included a CamelCase link which does not work in MediaWiki. This is to warn you that in the future any contributions that you make that are lacking the proper markup will not be approved in Moderation -- we did it this time as a courtesy. Now that you have been warned about submitting content without proper markup here and below in the thread about your trope proposal, future contributions lacking necessary markup will not only be bounced, but will be considered "ignoring a mod" and/or "refusing to learn from honest mistakes" as described in How We Do Bans Around Here.

... for several reasons, and in fact should have been rejected in Moderation before it got that far:

  1. It was a word-for-word copy of a trope page from TV Tropes. This is copyright infringement as the material postdates the fork and TV Tropes' subsequent change of license in 2012. Because All The Tropes and TV Tropes run under different Creative Commons licenses, content created there after 2012 cannot legally be used.
  2. A simple check of the page's history at TVT shows that it is the work of at least fourteen different people, and possibly more. You posted it here without the express written approval of all the editors who contributed to it, which is required under both TVT's and our Creative Commons licenses. That makes this also Plagiarism, as you are clearly not the sole creator of the text in question, and cannot legally authorize its reposting here.
  3. Finally, you simply copy-and-pasted chunks of text from a rendered copy of the TVT page into our trope page template, without bothering to add/insert the correct markup and leaving excessive whitespace, far beyond the level we prefer for readability, separating virtually every line. Even if you had given us a page we could legally use, this alone would have merited its rejection. As the one proposing the trope, it is incumbent upon you to give the wiki a candidate that does not require excessive work on the part of other users just to bring it up to the bare minimum of acceptable formatting.

If you feel strongly that we should document this trope, you will need to write a completely original description, properly marked up. To help you in this task, we very strongly urge you to read the following help/advice pages we have compiled for users:

Finally we strongly recommend that you also read All The Tropes:How We Do Bans Around Here. This isn't a threat -- this is the wiki policy strictly controlling how and when user bans can be applied by an Admin. We want you to be aware that unlike TVT, we do not ban users on whims or because we're cranky. But we'd like to emphasize that "Falsely representing oneself as having the right to authorize copying content from TV Tropes" is one of the very few ways there are to earn an immediate permaban here at ATT.
