  • Action Girl: Naomi and Valerie are both action oriented.
  • After the End: The after credits scene, especially 1992 Earth.
  • Alternate History: A nuclear exchange happens by 1992.
  • Aluminum Christmas Trees: East German Punk groups with Stasi affiliated members really was a thing. HuffPost has an article on it.
  • Bland-Name Product: An Expy of McDonalds fast food can be seen briefly with Naomi, complete with a "W" on the cup.
  • Blasting It Out of Their Hands: Valerie manages to shoot a handgun with her sniper rifle, breaking it.
  • Brainwashed: Naomi tries to do this to a bound person, though the result isn’t shown.
  • Checkpoint Charlie: A high speed chase occurs to reach the East Berlin West Berlin border.
  • Cool Car: The car Naomi drives appears to be a Citroën DS or similar.
  • Commie Land: Seen during the high speed chase through East Berlin.
  • Cozy Catastrophe: Life on the CIA Moon Command seems relatively normal, if somewhat sinister, As a nuclear scorched Earth is seen on the horizon.
  • Defcon Five: Averted in that things go from relatively calm at DEFCON 5 to Thermonuclear War at DEFCON 1.
  • Dirty Communists: The East German and Soviet forces, as well as Valerie as their agent.
  • Eagleland: The CIA Moon Command city is definitely gaudy, complete with "Mission Accomplished" sign.
  • Every Car Is a Pinto: An East German police car flies back and explodes after being struck by a hail of bullets.
  • Government Agency of Fiction: The CIA Moon Command is shown on a lunar city, riding out the nuclear war on Earth.
  • Gun Twirling: Done in the intro by Valerie.
  • Guns Akimbo: Valerie in the intro.
  • Hammerspace: Valerie is somehow able to produce an SPG9 recoilless rifle out of nowhere while on her motorbike, or hide three firearms from Paparazzi under a form fitting dress (Until they fall out due to a vent).
  • Paparazzi: Valerie is flanked by them while undercover in Hollywood.
  • Pin-Pulling Teeth: Valerie does this while riding a motorcycle. The grenade is of the "potato-masher" variety, so the string pull is more realistic than the pin pull.
  • Poison Is Evil: In the intro an anti-communist hand slips poison into a recently poured shot of a communist drink. A skull and bones puffs out as a result.
  • Precision F-Strike: The only word uttered by Naomi, and even then as a text effect and not voiced.

  • Spy-Versus-Spy: The main theme of the short.
  • Transforming Mecha: Sputnik 9000 and Eagle Mc EagleFace.
  • Tropes for Dummies: Naomi reads "Mind Control for Idiots" as she tortures someone.
  • Vodka Drunkenski: A subtle example in the intro, a shot is poured from a bottle with a red star.
  • World War III: The ending, as the two agents battle in space as city lights down on earth are extinguished as warheads fly.
