It's billed as "the encyclopedia anyone can edit."
Yeah. Just try editing it (not vandalising, editing). Your edit will quickly be reverted by the spergs who sit on Wikipedia articles like their own sad little fiefdoms. If you try again you'll be banned.
And not just on controversial topics. Pretty much any topic that's of interest to more than a handful of people.
Wikipedia is broke. Imagine a thousand fat neckbeards finger-painting in the medium of their own shite. That's Wikipedia.

Steve comment on "A portrait in SJW convergence", Vox Popoli
From the standpoint of reliability, Wikipedia might as well be written by gorillas.
Cecil Adams, 7/24/2009

"The way Wikipedia determines notability is exceptional [i.e., autistic]. There is no weight given to whether or not the subject has any real-world fame. It's entirely based on their approved news sources having written articles about it. If you look at that in its most positive light, that's a very idealistic view of the publishing world where you'd believe they wouldn't cover nonsense no one cares about. In reality, we know that many of the blogs they view as credible will write about anything, no matter the importance.

It's an extremely flawed system that ignores the banality, incestuous and self-promotional nature of internet publications. Web outlets don't have to cut stories because they're a newspaper or magazine that's run out of pages. There are no higher ups saying you shouldn't write a story about your friend. Useless fluff is encouraged and coupled with the significant biases of some of Wikipedia's lead editors, you get a website that doesn't really reflect reality well."
