Wraith/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Anticlimax Boss: The final gauntlet with the wraith is either this or nigh-impossible, depending on how many lightstones you saved. If you have 9 lightstones, you can easily fend it off, and if you can trigger it, your Eleventh-Hour Superpower makes the final battle a cakewalk.
  • Crowning Music of Awesome: The title theme and the Final Boss music.
  • Demonic Spiders: The wraith after it evolves 90 minutes into the game. It suddenly moves at the same speed Kana does normally, and can appear at any moment...
  • Girls Need Role Models: In an unusual twist for a game, nearly every female character in Wraith is a strong person.
    • Kana, though pulled into finding a way to defeat the wraith and save everyone in the manor by herself, is more than a strong main character and is portrayed as how a real woman might act in such a situation. Rather than crawling into a corner and crying, she takes charge and tries to uncover the secrets of the manor by herself with a soul-sucking monster on the loose.
    • Lily, as she stays cheerful and upbeat when she and Kana go to rescue the others. In one scene, it's her wit that manages to convince two characters from staying alone to become wraith chow.
    • The friendly mutant, who turns out to be Regina. Even as a little girl-turned-deformed monster, she jumps into battle and becomes a vital party assent.
    • In a sense, Erina Wellington, though mostly this is post-mortem. During the good ending, she forgives her husband for inflicting her cruel death and provides a comfort to her mutated daughter in her last earthbound moments.
  • Paranoia Fuel: The wraith can appear in a number of different places, in almost any room, and at any moment...
  • Tear Jerker: The scientists' Heroic Sacrifice.
    • Also, Cyrus' death.

"I'm sorry, Renn, it looks like I can't keep my promise..."
