Yu-Gi-Oh! Dungeon Dice Monsters/Trivia

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Bad Export for You: Zig-zagged with the English version. On one hand, some of the inherent problems found in the Japanese version are more or less fixed or at least circumvented, and the game was more approachable. On the other hand, a chunk of the monsters remain unreleased (although the low sales problem is the main culprit here) and some of the Crest icons used on the cards suffer from Blind Idiot Translation.
  • Defictionalization: Just like its older brother, the game itself is a defictionalized version of the one that appeared in Kazuki Takahashi's manga.
  • Stillborn Franchise: There was definitely an attempt to turn the game into its own empire a la Duel Monsters, with several booster packs, the anime arc having monsters imported from the main series, and even a GBA game solely about it. However, the tabletop game was a flop, and it becomes the minor Cult Classic known today.
  • What Could Have Been: There were two more English booster packs planned to be released for the game, Magnetic Storm and Summoned Fury. However, both are canceled after the game failed in the market.
  • The Wiki Rule: As per usual, Yu-Gi-Oh! Wikia and its forked site Yugipedia.
