Find the broken link

What if I know for a fact that the reason the link doesn't work is because the website has been taken down?

Looney Toons (talkcontribs)

There's always the Wayback Machine, of course.

If the target is something that is likely to have been copied and reposted by other people, Google for it. Hell, Google for it anyway, even if you have no reason to expect results. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Well that's true for very few of the pages, but in my cases concerning Sinfest, Narbonic, Magic: The Gathering, Axe Cop, Brawl in the Family, and some trope examples that needs YT vids, they're incorrectly link...Though webcomics/YouTube vids most of them aren't closed down, the comic artist moved the comics to another site, or there's tons of YT vids of it (With MTG, I don't play it, so I don't know a damn of which site/wikia to go to find the correct card, fandom lingo, and such). (Note: Sinfest, Axe Cop, and Narbonic are the worst ones, they're all incorrectly linked or worst, I can't go to their site...It just blips and no window opens).

Yeah, I'm not finding it. It's a Word of God citation on the Con Lang page from the WotC forums which WotC took down, I assume because they thought the benefits of keeping it around wasn't worth the upkeep.

WotC did move a bunch of their MTG article pages to different URLs and changed the aesthetics, but the forums were flat out taken down.

There is another MtG card encyclopedia that I found which is 100% fan made (I think) and has about everything (It's not wikia), but I don't know my way around anything (Link: https://magiccards.info/ Site in question). I'm dreading of accidentally putting up the wrong card when I replace a broken link. Click on some of the MtG links in some of the articles, it directs me to the main site, and the main site says that I used the wrong spell and blowing something up. :X

WotC still has a card database up called Gatherer (well, usually, sometimes it's down for maintenance). I don't think they've ever had a different database for cards online for the public. I don't think anything has moved in terms of a card database either.

That WotC moving articles without redirects thing resulting in dead links? Looks like they are redirects now. Forums are still dead as ever though.

Makes it seems as if I was overreacting. Wish I can find were they put those cards and replace some of those links though.
