Big Breasts, Big Deal/Playing With

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Basic Trope

Breast size becomes a major plot point, specifically the largeness of them. This comes in five basic types:

  • Embarrassment – the girl has unusually large breasts and feels humiliated as a result.
  • Resentment – the girl hates the fact she has unusually large breasts.
  • Indifference – the girl feels nothing in particular about them.
  • Pride – the girl's breasts make her haughty and arrogant.
  • Ignorance – the girl is unaware of their effect on men.

Played Straight

  1. Embarrassment – Alice has H-cup breasts, but due to the leering male peers and rumors behind her back she feels embarrassed and put-upon because of this trait.
  2. Resentment – Alice grows increasingly resentful and angry at being forced to have such enormous breasts.
  3. Indifference – Alice has H-cup breasts but doesn't really care one way or the other as to what people think, or what is said behind her back.
  4. Pride – Alice has H-cup breasts and loves to flaunt it, in fact she's downright arrogant about them.
  5. Ignorance – Alice is confused… why do men keep running into walls? And staring at her shirt. I mean it's a nice shirt but still?

Exaggerated

  1. Embarrassment – Alice wears heavy clothes and straps her breasts down to try and hide them.
  2. Resentment – Alice finally says “To hell with it!” and gets a breast reduction.
  3. Indifference – Alice just realized she even had breasts. She tends to forget about them, e.g. answering the door topless.
  4. Pride – Men basically do whatever Alice wants, because the power of boobs override all others.
  5. Ignorance – Alice is really happy everyone thinks her AC/DC shirt is cool. For a second she thought they were staring at her tits or something!

Justified

  1. Embarrassment – Alice was always very shy and introverted, at least before puberty hit her like a Tomahawk missile. She hates the attention and constant come-ons.
  2. Resentment – Alice's back is being wiped out by her enormous breasts, and she can't even walk down the street without getting hit on.
  3. Indifference – Alice is well-adjusted.
  4. Pride – Alice paid good money for those breast enhancement supplements, so you better stare!
  5. Ignorance – Alice is that terrifying combination of shallow and ditzy that fails to notice… well, anything.

Inverted

  1. Embarrassment – Alice feels very insecure about her flat chest.
  2. Resentment – Alice hates being flat-chested.
  3. Indifference – Alice is average or below average in terms of cup size, and really couldn't care less one way or the other.
  4. Pride – Alice may be flat as a board, but she views her small chest as a status symbol.
  5. Ignorance – Alice is totally oblivious to ridicule of her “not-boobs”…or admiration of them, for that matter.

Subverted

  1. Embarrassment – Alice likes people to think she's a chaste, shy girl but she's really quite arrogant about her breast size in private…
  2. Resentment – Alice pretends to complain about how heavy and overly large her breasts are… but it's just an excuse for her to brag about them…
  3. Indifference – Alice seems to not even notice or care she has big breasts, but privately admits to you that she absolutely loves (or hates) them…
  4. Pride – It turns out Alice was wearing a push up the whole time…
  5. Ignorance – Alice always had a feeling those guys weren't AC/DC fans…

Double Subverted

  1. Embarrassment – …but she really is a little embarrassed by the leers and rumors.
  2. Resentment – …but that doesn't mean they're not really heavy and uncomfortable.
  3. Indifference – …moments after she's made whatever point she was making, she admits she's joking and that she doesn't see the big deal about them.
  4. Pride – …so Alice gets a boob job, and now she has something to brag about.
  5. Ignorance – …they're probably checking out her sweet Jesus piece.

Parodied

  1. Embarrassment – Alice constructs a cloaking device simply to hide her huge breasts from the world.
  2. Resentment – Alice gets in an argument with her breasts for being too big and they argue back about how they deserve better treatment from her.
  3. Indifference – Alice's breasts are given the Galactic Record for Best Breasts Ever and she accepts her boob-shaped trophy with a mild shrug.
  4. Pride – Alice constructs giant signs on her shoulders that point to her breasts complete with flashing neon lights that say “XXX” and “STEP RIGHT UP.”
  5. Ignorance – Alice's breasts cause premature ejaculation to all males that see them and she assumes it's because of her ordinary-looking lips.

Deconstructed

  1. Embarrassment – Alice is a shy, introverted sixth grader with H-cup breasts who lives in a world of Male Gaze and All Men Are Perverts. Naturally she feels humiliated and deeply embarrassed and is treated like a freak by other girls.
  2. Resentment – Alice has actually had back surgery in the last year because her breasts are so big and heavy. She hates them, hates the way they make people look at her, and wishes she could go back to being normal.
  3. Indifference – Alice pretends not to care but she actually uses them to distract people while she takes advantage.
  4. Pride – Alice seems vain and arrogant about her breasts, but only because she's a highly insecure girl who uses her breast size to hide her feelings of inadequacy.
  5. Ignorance – Alice is actually rather intelligent and aware of what men want. She just pretends to be unaware of her breast size to get by more easily.

Reconstructed

  1. Embarrassment – Having such huge breasts and being thrust into the forefront of puberty, Alice finally builds up a thick enough skin to be less shy. Now she is far more extroverted and not embarrassed at all.
  2. Resentment – Alice has unusually large breasts but is actually quite happy about it and not as self-conscious as you would expect.
  3. Indifference – Alice bucks the trends that society try to force upon her. Also she invests in sports bras.
  4. Pride – While prideful about her breasts, Alice is not really a bad person. She's actually very nice and friendly, & her pride about her breasts is not very different from somebody being proud of high marks or an athletic victory. She is simply prideful, but does not view herself as better then anybody because of her breasts. She is physically attractive, why not proudly flaunt it?
  5. Ignorance – Alice is a lot more on the ball than people think. She pretends she is unaware of her breast size because it gives her an excuse to ignore all the pervs.

Zig Zagged

  1. Embarrassment – Alice is embarrassed about her breasts, but then it turns out she's actually stuffing her bra, and she's actually embarrassed of how flat she is. But then it turns out she had enormous breasts, but then had a mastectomy, which she has regretted since.
  2. Resentment – Alice hates her large breasts, but begins thinking more kindly towards them after she's able to get out of trouble by undoing a few buttons on her blouse. But she overuses the sexy gambit, and begins to feel cheap and slutty, and she hates her breasts again, but her Love Interest adores her chest and makes her feel sexy and confident.
  3. Indifference – Alice doesn't really notice her breasts, but reveals privately that the weight is painful and inconvenient. She's considering having breast reduction surgery, but she's on the fence because of her Love Interest and the use of being able to distract people with the sexy. She's willing to deal with the discomfort, but she doesn't like how difficult it is to find clothing that fits.
  4. Pride – Alice is proud of her chest, but reveals she had a boob job. But it turns out she just left an abusive relationship, and she had the surgery to make herself feel sexy and confidant again. But then she starts wondering why her self-esteem is so tied into her appearance, when her ex shows up again…
  5. Ignorance – Alice acts blissfully unaware of her chest, and assumes that people are just looking at her sweet new AC/DC shirt. It turns out that people really are looking at her shirt, and she's suddenly upset because, after all, she IS a beautiful woman and it annoys her that people stare at her clothes and not her figure.
