Cadence of Hyrule is an odd entry in The Legend of Zelda series. A rhythm game based on the mechanics of Crypt of the Necrodancer and 2D Zelda games, Cadence of Hyrule was released in 2019 for the Nintendo Switch. It is also one of the few Zelda games developed by an external company from Nintendo , being made by Brace Yourself Games.
Tropes used in Cadence of Hyrule include:
- Bubblegloop Swamp: The Lost Swamp
- Crossover: Between The Legend of Zelda and Crypt of the Necrodancer.
- Dance Battler: The central theming of the game. Actions, including battling, must be done to the beat.
- Dual World Gameplay: With the Symphony of the Mask DLC.
- Pop Star Composer: Has music by Danny Baranowsky.
- Shout-Out: Has many references to their respective games. In particular The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is referenced in the DLC Symphony of the Mask.
