The whole point to using categories on All The Tropes is to automate the creation of page lists. Why are we putting manually-generated lists onto a category page, thus duplicating the work that the server is already doing?

I know your question is probably rhetorical, but glancing at the history it looks to me like it was a very early (2014) effort to do some combination of a) look like TVT and/or b) provide some level of detail or organization the flat generated list didn't provide. I agree that it is extra work, and extra work of the kind that gets outdated as soon as new tropes are added to the category. We really should clean up categories that do this.
