According to Wikipedia, 'A power trio is a rock and roll band format having a lineup of guitar, bass and drums, leaving out the second guitar or keyboard that are used in other rock music quartets and quintets to fill out the sound with chords.'

According to TV Tropes, a power trio is a trio.

I know this has been brought up in the past, but now I'm making the proposal official: Rename 'Category:Power Trio' to 'Category:Trio', fix the links, then rename 'Power Trio (music)' to 'Power Trio'.

If it happens, this will take a while to do.

It might make things a little bit vague in the future, although we do have Rock Trio when comes to music.

Well, that saves creating a page for what the rest of the world calls a power trio...

Can I just ask for Trio Tropes instead? This should come under my Make Category Names Boring Initiative (despite its long inactivity). This would pair with Duo Tropes and Solitary Tropes, and make it clear that it didn't apply to random musical trios.

The most visible part is now done:

• This is now "Trio Tropes"
• Trio is new, and redirects to this category
• "Rock Trio" is now Power Trio with the addition of the material that was on "Power Trio (music)" and the addition of the line "Not to be confused with what TV Tropes calls a "power trio", which we call, simply enough, a Trio."
• "Power Trio (music)" now redirects to "Power Trio"

Still to be done:

• Fix most but not all of the existing links to "Power Trio" so that they point to "Trio" instead. EDIT: Oh, dear, there's over a thousand pages that link to Power Trio. I request that somebody do a bot run to fix these, leaving out the redirects from "Power Trio (music)" and "Rock Trio" (which should point to this page).
