Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1/Trivia

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Trivia about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 includes:

  • Actor Allusion: The Trio end up in a café that has a promotional poster for Equus on the wall.
  • Alternate DVD Commentary: Wizard People, Dear Reader
  • Jittercam: Used several times, particularly in the scene where Ron fights with Harry in the tent and leaves.
  • Never Trust a Trailer:
    • A small and rather cruel one: There was a shot of Harry setting Hedwig free, implying that she wouldn't die like she did in the book. However, she ends up reappearing during the chase scene and tries to save Harry's life, but is hit with a killing curse.
    • Voldemort's line "I have seen your heart, and it is mine", which in both the book and film is Voldemort's locket Horcrux speaking to Ron, is used out of context to make it seem like Voldemort is talking to Harry.
  • Shout-Out: On the list of dead wizards and witches read over the radio, there is a dead witch named "Ebony Raven".
  • Trailers Always Spoil: The first teaser trailer for the two Deathly Hallows movies starts with the part where Harry is by himself confronting Voldemort and his followers in the Forbidden Forest and Voldemort using the "Killing Curse" on him!
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The role of Helena Ravenclaw was originally going to be offered to Kate Winslet, but her agent shot it down before it even got to her.
    • John Williams was supposed to come back to compose the score, but scheduling conflicts prevented that.
