Creator Backlash: Audrey Giesel didn't like the adult humor but not nearly to the extent that she disliked that in The Cat in the Hat.
Deleted Scene: A good amount of them were reinserted for the TV broadcast version shown on Freeform. Others can be found on the DVD.
- The Grinch encounters a family of Whos that don't celebrate Christmas and he called them the "Whosteins".
- Cindy Lou Who goes to Who School.
Executive Meddling: Jeff Schaffer, Alec Berg and David Mandel were brought in to do rewrites with adult humor snuck in. Some of it was cut out due to Howard and Carrey's demands.
Hey, It's That Guy!: Would you believe that's Taylor Momsen playing Cindy Lou?
- And Timmy the Magic Doll is the Bratty Half-Pint Grinch!
- Also, Lou Who is Mr. Noodle. Whobris is Balok. Betty Lou Who is Mary Katherine Gallagher.
Hey, It's That Voice!: Anthony Hopkins is the narrator.
Throw It In: Jim Carrey stole Ron Howard's hat and improvised the impersonation. Howard was amused enough to put it in the movie. Carrey also improvised the Grinch's schedule speech.
What Could Have Been: Tim Burton was offered a chance to direct the Live Action Adaptation, but could not due to a conflict with another project he was working on at the time.
