Non Sequitur Scene: Miyagi, straight up until that point, suddenly grabbing a heartbroken Hiroki and trying to kiss him before Nowaki stepped in. Never showed any interest in him before, and it's never mentioned again afterwards.
- Miyagi is normally pretty grabby and in other ways overly familiar with Hiroki, though. He just likes to tease his kohai.
- Considering the context of the scene, he may have tried to invoke Sex for Solace out of sympathy.
Fridge Horror: Misaki gets a dose of this when Usagi brings up telling his brother (Takahiro) about their relationship... and Misaki realizes the huge problems that arise with the situation that he's dating his older brother's best friend.
Magnificent Bastard: Isaka. Repeatedly. Especially when it comes to Akihiko, Haruhiko and Misaki, although there's a very good reason he's the director of Marukawa publishing.
Memetic Mutation: Shinobu and cabbages.
Rescued From the Scrappy Heap: A Base Breaker example with Misaki. He slowly but surely matures from a bratty kid to a more mature young adult, and starts reaffirming he wants to stay with Usagi no matter what. Considering this coincides with the apparition of Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi's controversial Onodera and despised Chiaki, it only made his character growth even more noticeable.
- Mizuki started out as a scrappy due to his poor attitude, but him softening and focusing on his relationship with Kaoruko has made him more of a Base Breaker.
