- Complete Monster: Blackhole/Cronal.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: Luke tells Geptun that he's not into Aeona because "redheads aren't my type." Mara Jade, Luke's future wife, is very much an abrasive redhead, as is his son and younger great-grandson.
- Here's the actual line:
Luke: "And then there's Aeona Cantor. She's not my love interest. She's Nick's girlfriend, and that's the whole story. Anyway, she's not my type. Too abrasive. And I don't like redheads." |
- In-universe, one could justify this with his previous relationship with Shira Brie/Lumiya, which ended rather badly.
- Moral Event Horizon: "Answer me this: Why is the armor of my stormtroopers black? I'll give you a hint: It's not just paint."
- High Octane Nightmare Fuel: Pretty much everything associated with Shadowspawn, with the notable exception of Shadowspawn himself- but he's just a pawn anyway
- Squick: After Blackhole's plan to steal Luke's body fails, he decides to do the same thing to Leia instead
- The Woobie: Luke, particularly in the Book Ends. In that first one he's hiring an investigator to build a case of war crimes to indict him with - it doesn't matter to him that people don't see what he did as murder. All through the book he does various things while telling Nick that this "isn't my best trick", and at the end he relates to Gepta that his companion had asked what that best trick was.
"You know what I told him? I told him he'd just seen it." |
