Make It or Break It/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Crowning Moment of Awesome: Sasha punching out Marty when he finds out about his affair. Payson gets one as well in "Worlds Apart" when she does her vault with an injured foot - topping it off with a little wink to Russian rival Glinka who she's just owned. You'd expect Lauren to wink, but from Payson... Team USA deserves to win gold after that. And they do.
  • Les Yay: Payson and Emily seem to be... close. Incredibly close.
  • Anvilicious: In season two Kaylie's eating disorder lands her in rehab where she befriends Maeve, a model with a similar condition; the model tutors her in telling The Powers That Be what they want to hear so that she can leave. They both get to leave but Maeve drops dead of heart failure.
  • Fan-Preferred Couple: Take the canon pairing Summer/Sasha's 12 fanfictions to the 107 fanfictions shipping Payson/Sasha.
  • Narm: the gas station scene.
  • Portmanteau Couple Name: "Kaylicky" is clearly one of the worst ever.
  • Relationship Writing Fumble: Sasha and Payson. Particularly evident in "I Won't Dance, Don't Ask Me" when Summer finds tickets to the ballet and thinks that Sasha is planning on asking her but then finds out he's taking Payson instead. Granted, he's trying to convince her to be an artistic gymnast, but still.
  • Shout-Out: Possibly? I just started watching this show, but in the episode I saw, I noticed that Summer's ex is named Steve Tanner. hmmmm
  • Sympathetic Sue: Emily is the Scholarship Student living in Perpetual Poverty, has trust issues, has abandonment issues, feels like the outsider, doesn't get along with her mother, always in the middle of some love triangle and was arrested stealing prescription medicine for her disabled younger brother when he's about to have a seizure.
