Mario's Day Job is a video game webcomic by Butterscotch. It started off as a humorous comic about Mario's and Luigi's jobs as plumbers featuring video game cross overs, but has since evolved to feature an overarching plot involving the heroes rescuing several distressed damsels... And Professor Oak. It mostly features characters from Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Pokémon, Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon.

• And Your Reward Is Interior Decorating: No one ever pays Mario and Luigi cash for their plumbing jobs.
• Butt Monkey: Luigi
• Cloudcuckoolander: Mark
• Designated Victim: Both played straight and subverted. Zelda does get kidnapped, but it's by Bowser and thus far Peach has managed to escape being kidnapped. Daisy has not had the same luck. The other characters who have been kidnapped are all first timers.
• Economy Cast: Despite the comic having Loads and Loads of Characters, Mario and Luigi seem to be the only plumbers in the Mario's Day Job universe.
• Everything's Better with Princesses: In addition to Zelda, Peach, and Daisy, there's Princess Juliet, a Jigglypuff.
• Fan Nickname: Mark thinks Jack looks like a Pete.
• Heroic Mime: Subverted with Link.
• I Am Not Shazam: When Luigi first meets Link, he wonders how Zelda was able to escape from Bowser.

• Pun-Based Title: Butterscotch is fond of using these when she names each page.
• Pungeon Master: Dawn
• Running Gag: Several. Two of the most common are that everything is a Pokémon and Link being mistaken for other characters.
• Smooch of Victory: Peach tries to give Mario one after he retrieves the ring she dropped down the drain, but is interrupted by Mario's ringing cell phone calling him off on another plumbing emergency.
• Those Two Guys: Goomba and Boo
• When All You Have Is a Hammer: Bowser doesn't understand the concept of plans that don't involve kidnapping Peach.
