Miracle Girls is a manga and anime from the early 1990's about Tomomi and Mikage, a pair of teenage twins with psychic powers, typically teleportation (when touching each other's fingers) and telepathy with each other. The series was created by Nami Akimoto.
Some consider it a borderline magical girl series, especially in the TV show, which gives them flower bracelets that act like magical girl items.
Tropes used in Miracle Girls include:
- Always Identical Twins
- And You Were There: The twins psychically send themselves back to ancient Egypt. Everyone looks like people they know, even though they're Egyptians and the people they know are Japanese.
- Broad Strokes: The anime clearly is meant to roughly correspond with the middle of the manga, with Tomomi's boyfriend knowing her secret and Kageura suspicious, but isn't consistent with it (the Diamas story isn't the same, for instance).
- Different As Night and Day
- Dub Name Change: The Tokyopop manga version called them Toni and Mika.
- Freaky Friday Flip: This actually happens to them once. Yes, they then try to be the one whose body they are using at the moment.
- Pinky Swear: Touching fingers to use their teleportation is obviously a reference to this, although it's never stated.
- Reality Ensues: Kageura-sensei keeps trying to prove the twins are psychic. As a result, his wife leaves him.
- Tomboy and Girly Girl: Tomomi and Mikage respectively.
- Telepathy
- Teleportation
- Twin Switch
- Wonder Twin Powers
