  • Fan Dumb: One of the biggest examples of Fan Dumb in Russian literature today is the scope of reactions towards "Vybrakovka". What Divov wrote was basically a clever deconstruction of popular desires to clean up The New Russia that were common in 1999 when it was published, showing the various problems that would entail. What most people apparently thought was that it was a Mary Suetopia; the fact that it was more like a Crap Saccharine World went over their heads. Cue wannabe rights-defenders and other liberals dubbing him a fascist. One of those people even hacked his blog in 2009, so obviously it's still going.
    • Misaimed Fandom: And then there are the many, many people who think that it really was a bona fide Utopia, even though Divov has gone out of his way, both in the book and on later occasions, to explain that it is very much not so and that some of those people would very probably have been arrested for minor infractions if this "utopia" were to come true. Those people seem to form the overwhelming majority of the book's fans.
  • Memetic Badass: Divov himself is on the way there, if certain reviews and the Russian Lurkmore site (which seems to regard him as a Worthy Opponent) are any indication are any indication.
