Heavenly Nostrils, a Web Comic by Dana Simpson, follows the friendship of 9-year-old Phoebe and a Unicorn named Marigold Heavenly Nostrils. It made its debut on Go Comics.com in April of 2012.
Tropes used in Phoebe and Her Unicorn include:
- Awesome McCoolname: Marigold Heavenly Nostrils.
Phoebe: That's the best name I've ever heard. |
- A Girl And Her Unicorn
- Little Professor Dialog: In this strip Phoebe uses the words "appalling" and "semiautobiographical."
- Recycled Script: Heavily reuses slightly tweaked Ozy and Millie scripts.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: Energetic Phoebe is red. Proud, poised Marigold is blue.
- So Beautiful It's a Curse: When Marigold sees her reflection, she is trapped staring, sometimes for days.
- Unicorn: Marigold's design resembles the medieval description of a unicorn, rather than looking like a mere horse with a horn.
- Weirdness Censor: The class doesn't react much to seeing a live unicorn during show and tell. Marigold says it's because of the "Shield of Boringness," a bit of magic that lets unicorns live undisturbed.
- Youthful Freckles: Phoebe.
