Trivia about Shark Tale includes:

• Colbert Bump: Schaffrillas Productions has helped give tons of his fans exposure to this thanks to his review and several YTPs featuring Oscar.
• Dueling Movies: Was released a year after Finding Nemo and a month before The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, two animated fish films.
• Old Shame:
  • DreamWorks Animation prefers not to bring it up nowadays despite giving it a Blu-ray release on 2019.
  • Averted with Jack Black and Angelina Jolie, who said that their experience with the film helped them get ready for Kung Fu Panda.
• Release Date Change: The film was going to be released on November 5th, but was pushed back to October 1st to prevent competition with The Incredibles. This helped the film get number one at the box office for 3 weeks straight.
• Stillborn Franchise: It was supposed to have a sequel in 2008 but was scrapped because DreamWorks Animation doesn’t want to do more genre parodies outside of Shrek.
• Unintentional Period Piece: This film should have been called 2004: The Movie because all of the actors were highly active during that year and has a heaping helping of Urban Gangsta Flava.
• Voices in One Room: Several of the actors recorded in the same room, including Jack Black and Will Smith.
• What Could Have Been:
  • There was going to be an electric eel named Polly but his character traits were passed on to Sykes.
  • Luca would have been killed by Lola with a piano.
• Working Title: “Sharkslayer” before it was retitled to make it more family-friendly.
