** Some actual goddesses seem to have the same attitude (and lack of dignity) as mariliths. (Be warned, the following links are NSFW.) For many years it was a Running Gag among AD&D players that the Finnish goddess Loviatar got far more than her fair share of player character worshippers solely because of her bare-breasted portrayal in the 1980 Deities and Demigods Cyclopedia. The Babylonian goddess Ishtar came in a close second for having nipples visible through her top in one edition's image (and fully topless in another). Not that all of these "goddess with no dignity" examples are Fanservice, however. One can hopefully assume Bast didn't receive as much devotion despite equally bare breasts, as there weren't many horny teen boys in the 1980s into Catgirls who were quite that much cat. And let's not even discuss the problems facing Blibdoolpoolp.
** While Lolth doesn't fit this Trope, lesser Drow goddesses sometimes do. In her original write-up for Monster Mythology, Kiaransalee (goddess of death and vengeance) supposedly only wore silver chains upon her otherwise unclothed body; later versions, however, gave her more modesty. Eilistraee is always depicted as naked, with nudity representing the concept of Freedom, which she represents, her worshippers adopting the Trope as well, at least for rituals done in her name.
** No illustration of Verenestra (a goddess revered by nymphs, dryads, and sylphs) was provided in the original Monster Mythology splat book, but she is described as "wearing only gossamer garments the size of handkerchiefs to provide her with a semblance of modesty."
