I basically eventually sort out all the examples of the sandbox version, merge them onto this page.
The main question is the current state of the mainspace page, do we delete these "examples", or do I just put all the new sorted ones underneath?

I don't know. I feel like most of these are actually tropes. Some of them like Rail Enthusiast, Furry Fandom, Naked People Are Funny have a page already. Cubs Fan should probably be a trope if things like this exist: http://imgur.com/a/719f7 (X-TREME X-MEN #26, from 2003.)
Judging by the mainspace page, the cubs example seems to link you to two separate more general tropes that might be good for what you are suggesting.
I guess I'm thinking that this is a supertrope, and most everything on the page is a subtrope, except those things which are too obscure to merit their own page. I've had a lot of trouble integrating that into the Mediawiki software, because there really needs to be a page and a category page. And maybe a DPL powered list of subtropes by listing the category?
As to whether the category page has the same name as the trope page, I don't know?
You and me both, you and me both.
OK, I guess the supertrope page is at Super-Trope. But the idea is that there are some tropes that are a superset of a group of tropes. Generally we move all of the tropes that fit into a narrower definition out of the supertrope page.
The problem is that on TVT, a trope page could also act as a category page. So as a result, we have ATT pages like Badass with a list of tropes and a short definition. And then we have Category:Badass which has the list of the same tropes (but also Badass/ subpages because we categorize that way). I would like to break that up, and make it more organized. Somehow.
Anyway what I mean here is that you need to filter out all of the stuff that *does* have its a specific trope, and only keep the remainder that didn't fit in a more specific trope on this page.
...
I guess there might be a miscommunication of what I meant at the start.
I wanted to know whether to keep the bold examples on the mainspace at the same time as the eventually sorted ones from the sandbox that will be put in this article, which if they are kept the sorted ones go underneath the bold exampls.
It might not help it's 4:30am however unfortunately I am completely non-functioning in terms of how supertropes apply here or whatever it is the point you were making, and I apologise even though tbh idk what is going on.
I'll probably get it eventually idk.
