Talk:Creator Killer

The term 'Creator Killer' might be WAY too easily confused with Author Existence Failure, Rage Against the Author or The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You, where the creator can be literally killed by his or her work.

With that in mind, I suggest the name of the trope be changed. My suggested new title is Creator-Derailing Project (a title I've already used in The True Tropes, a fork of All The Tropes). It's a title that's similar to the similar trope Star-Derailing Role, and is generally less confusing.

Maybe "Creator Career-Killer"?

Actually, I HAD thought of that particular alternate title as well. And yes, just like Creator-Derailing Project, Creator Career-Killer is a more accurate and less misleading title than Creator Killer.

All of the proposed new names are, IMHO, better than the trope name that we have now. Let's let this discussion run over the Christmas holidays - maybe we can choose a new name by new year's.

I propose Creator Reputation-killer, as in some times the career itself survives (as in they keep getting work in the industry), but their reputation keeps plunging down.

Well, my favorite of the new names is still Creator-Derailing Project, but I'd like to hear other suggestions, too.
