The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck/YMMV
- Author's Saving Throw: In Voodoo Hoodoo, Scrooge looked like Donald Duck when Bombie the Zombie first went after him because that was his natural youthful appearance. Here, it was just a disguise.
- Any claims that Scrooge's Number One Dime is "lucky" are just rumors spread by an ignorant public.
- Awesome Moment: Lots.
- This bad guy from Prisoner of White Agony Valley says it best: "Now lookit what he's doin' [dead link]! Ridin' an iceberg down the mountainside and pullin' the mountain behind him!"
- Funny Moment:
Narrator: At this moment, young Scrooge is on the absolute opposite side of the planet from his scottish home. |
- Heartwarming Moment: The ending of The Dream of a Lifetime.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: The Dream of a Lifetime involves the Beagle Boys invading Scrooge's dream, via a device stolen from Gyro, in order to steal the combination to his money bin. Guess which movie involving entering dreams in order to steal secrets came out 6 years later?
- Memetic Badass: Even Donald (who was previously skeptical to the tall tales of his uncle's past), acknowledges that Scrooge was the ultimate Badass in his Klondike days.
- Moment of Awesome: This being Scrooge McDuck, these happen at least Once Per Episode.
- Moral Event Horizon: It's actually a plot point that Scrooge crosses this line in The Empire Builder from Calisota.
- Tear Jerker : Don Rosa has ended quite a few episodes this way. Notably:
- Hearts of the Yukon
- The Billionaire of Dismal Downs
- The Empire-Builder From Calisota
- The Dream of a Lifetime. If you aren't touched by this one after reading all of the preceding series, you have no soul.
