  • Hey, It's That Guy!: A large number of recognizable faces turn up in guest roles during the course of the series, often as the Villain of the Week or the Girl of the Week. Among those that appear are Michael Dunn (who played Dr. Loveless), Richard Kiel, Victor Buono, Suzanne Pleshette, Robert Loggia, Jeff Corey, Leslie Nielsen, Katherine Ross, Elisha Cook Jr., Martin Landau, Burgess Meredith, Yvonne Craig, Richard Jaeckel... and that's just the first season.
    • Other big name villains of the week include Boris Karloff, Ricardo Montalban (in a role that was combined with Michael Dunn's to create the film version of Loveless), Ed Asner, Harvey Korman (yes, in a dramatic role), and Carroll O'Connor (years before making it big in All in the Family). Oh, and a not-as-big name that Star Trek fans will recognize, Mark Lenard.
    • Taking advantage of the close proximity of the Gilligan's Island sets (many Wild Wild West scenes were shot at the lagoon where the Minnow sank), Dawn Wells (Mary Ann) and Alan Hale Jr. (the Skipper) were guest stars in different episodes. Alan Hale Jr.'s character lampshades the connection between the shows during his appearance.
  • Working Title: "The Wild West". The second "Wild" was added by second producer Collier Young.
  • You Look Familiar: Messrs. Kiel, Loggia, Corey and Jaeckel turn up in later seasons as well. Also, Fester is a cowardly sheriff and a hypnotised Mayor ("The Night of the Cut-Throats" and "The Night of the Winged Terror, Part 1" respectively).
