• Alternate Character Interpretation: Did Rhonda think Macey and her friends were still pulling a joke on her, or did she know that the ghosts of the dead school bus kids were real and just left them to die?
• Draco in Leather Pants: Sam, in a nonsexual way. He's just so darn cute!
• Fridge Brilliance: A lot of stuff. In particular, look carefully at the chocolate bar that Steven gives Sam, and which character is wearing a class ring.
• Fridge Horror: Even if Macey and her friends hadn't been killed by the school bus kids, they probably would have died later anyway when they went home and ate the candy Mr. Wilkins gave them.
• High Octane Nightmare Fuel- While still a horror film, most agree that the film is not a scare fest. However, almost everyone agrees that the ending to the school bus story is the most chilling moment in the film.
• Memetic Mutation: "Charlie Brown's an asshole!"

• Paranoia Fuel: Follow the rules of Halloween or Sam will come and find you...
• Ugly Cute: Sam. Part of it comes from the fact that there's an actual child actor (the awesomely-named Quinn Lord) in that costume, rather than a little person actor.
