However, we do have a request for you. In the future, please do not simply put work names in quotation marks, as you did on Corpsing for your example about White Christmas. If instead of entering something like

"White Christmas"

you would please do

''[[White Christmas]]''

instead, it will help reduce the load on the moderation staff, who currently are the ones tasked with cleaning up incomplete contributions.

If you're uncertain what the proper capitalization, spelling and punctuation of a work name is, you can use our search box to find the work, at the very worst by a process of elimination.

Please reply to this note to let us know that you saw it. Thanks!

@Amaroq: This is a second notice on this issue. While you have (mostly) been putting italics markup on work names in your contributions over the last week, you have generally not been adding link markup, nor have you always been using the correct names of the works. I point to your recent contribution to the Real Life section of For the Love of God, Stay Awake!, where you cite a work called Spirit of St. Louis in an offhanded manner which doesn't really identify what kind of work it is. According to Wikipedia, the only work by that name is a 1981 album by Ellen Foley, while there are at least five works that go by the title The Spirit of St. Louis. While a quick check of Wikipedia will make it a simple matter to determine that you must mean Lindbergh's 1953 book, it shouldn't be necessary to go to Wikipedia to figure out what work is meant. Even if a work doesn't have a page here, please give its name full markup (and a media type if needed), if only to inspire another troper to create the page.

Please reply to this thread to let us know that you have read these requests. If you don't reply, we may find it necessary to impose a 2-day non-punitive "attention-getter" tempban to ensure you do read this.

Thank you.

Okay, you're either ignoring us, or haven't noticed that you have messages. Either way, we're going to have to give you that temp ban, just to make sure you read this. If you've honestly not seen that you have messages (or don't know what the colored numbers at the top of the page mean), my apologies. But it's the only way to get your attention.
