Violet Evergarden (anime)/Trivia

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Trivia about Violet Evergarden (anime) includes:

  • Acting for Two: In Japanese, Anne Magnolia is voiced by Sumire Morohoshi. In the second film, she voices Anne's granddaughter Daisy.
  • Dawson Casting: Some of the younger characters are voiced by adults. Examples include:
    • Violet herself (14) is voiced in English by Erika Harlacher, who is twice the character's age.
    • Anne Magnolia (around 6 or 7) is voiced by Cassandra Lee Morris, who was 36 at the time.
  • Hey, It's That Voice!: Fans of Steins;Gate will quickly pick up that Cherami Leigh voices Iris Cannary using the exact same voice she used to voice Suzuha Amane in that series (in particular, Beta Suzuha in Steins;Gate 0).
  • No Export for You: Specifically, the light novels the series was adapted from never got an official translation outside of Japan since no western publisher was able to get the distribution rights to the source material. However, an English Fan Translation of the four mainline volumes are available as of June 2021, while the remaining nine side stories got the same treatment less than a year later.
  • The Other Darrin: In the Latin American Spanish dub for Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll, Violet Evergarden is voiced by Nycolle González, replacing Andrea Arruti when the latter died from pneumonia.
