Wilfred/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Seems to be the point of the show; is Wilfred antagonizing Ryan, or just trying to help him let go and enjoy life? Along with other alternate interpretations of the show in general (is Ryan crazy/dead/or is everything for real?)
  • Culture Police: Family First Party Senator Steve Fielding objected to the show, due to taxpayer funding being used to make a show "depicting acts of bestiality"[1]. Apparently the senator had no comment on the rape references, the nudity, the language, the drug use, or the necrophilia references. Or the fact that Wilfred's preferred sex partner is a teddy bear. The list goes on.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Brian from Family Guy wanted to do a show starring Elijah Wood. Now Elijah is in a show with a dog.
  • Jerkass Woobie: Kristen grew up with Ryan being the favorite, so it makes sense that she's a bitch towards Ryan, and is most likely a power tripper. But keep in mind that neither siblings seem to talk about seeing their father often, and she never sees her mom, so it seems like she really does care about her only family member (EP4) and wants to spend time with him, and is more than willing to help him out of financial situations as long as he's willing to man up.
  • Squick:
    • After Spencer gets the impression that he and Ryan are friends, he brings his laptop over to watch some porn with him. Spencer gets rock-hard. A couple minutes later we find out that the porno they watched starred Spencer's transsexual father, who has (according to Spencer) "perfect breasts".
    • How about sex with an off-puttingly aggressive Jane Kaczmarek who keeps referring to herself as a "naughty widdle bunny" intercut with footage of Wilfred rimming a plush giraffe? To make matters worse, we soon find out that Wilfred gave Kaczmark's character oral sex after Ryan wasn't up to it.
    • Seeing Darryl "preparing" himself with peanut butter.
  • Tear Jerker: The end of US episode 8.
