  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Defied. Revolver attempts to finish off Playmaker with the latter's Firewall Dragon, who counters with Cybenet Refresh to destroy all cards in both players' Main Monster Zones.
  • Internal Reveal: Though it was never spelled out directly in the show, most fans guessed that Ignis has free will back in episode one.
  • Loophole Abuse: How Playmaker counters Revolver's trap. His Cyberse Monsters cannot attack, their effects are negated, can't either be attacked or targeted by an effect. They can, however, be tributed and summoned, so he uses his two Cyberse monsters to summon another.
  • Meaningful Name: Ignis. It's revealed by Revolver that the name doesn't allude to fire in general, but it's a Shout-Out to the legend of Prometheus and the fire he stole from the gods. Then he drops the Wham Line.
  • The Teaser:Unlike previous episodes which recaps the events of the episode before it, this episode opens up with Ignis floating on the ocean, pondering over his whereabouts before recalling that he was erased by Revolver's Fire Prison. He proceeds to fall asleep, musing over what will happen when he does.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Fire Prison can't be destroyed by other cards, but it destroys itself when the Cyberse monsters it traps leave the battlefield. Considering it doesn't prevent them to be tributed and also gives the opponent every reason to (since their monster zones still counts as occupied), it's quite a flaw.
