2150 A.D. is a novel written by Thea Alexander in 1971 which takes place in the same year. It's about a man named Jon Lake who lives with his roommate Karl. Jon has an astral dream about living in the year 2150 A.D., a veritable utopia where humanity is evolved to a very advanced, loving, and peaceful degree. He travels back and forth between that year and the current year of 1971. His goal is to attain Macro Awareness to bring himself to 2150 A.D. permanently.

Tropes used in 2150 A.D. include:

Abusive Parents: Neda has an emotionally abusive mother who berates her day after day and makes her feel like nothing. Jon is able to take Neda in and free her from all that.
Attempted Rape: Two motorcycle thugs try to rape a young girl but Jon manages to kill both of them one at a time.
- What the Hell, Hero?: While it was right of Jon to protect the girl it was wrong of him to kill the motorcycle thugs in order to do so. He is denied entry into 2150 A.D. until he can fix this predicament. He starts doing this by reviving the motorcycle thugs, sneaking them into his apartment, imprisoning them by hypnotizing them and then rehabilitating them with Macro Philosophy.
Author Tract: Proselytizing Macro Philosophy.
Bittersweet Ending: Jon dies in 2150 A.D. after being executed by the government of Micro Island as well as an angry mob as well as 1971 by evolating. However though since human souls reincarnate infinitely Jon knows he'll be back and able to live a new life with new choices.
Conscription: Jon and Karl were drafted into the Vietnam War due to their parents pissing off some members of the draft board. They faced the horrors of war during their service.
- The Vietnam War: Jon and Karl got some serious PTSD from the war from having to kill enemy soldiers (as well as some civilians inadvertently)and watch their squad mates get killed.
- Artificial Limbs: Jon got a prosthetic leg as a result of losing his real one in the war.
The Future: Over a hundred years into the future from the current year of 1971 to 2150 AD Jon finds the world is very different.
Gladiator Games: A form of these exist on Micro Island in which every househould has at least one TV set to watch.
Heel Face Turn: The motorcycle thugs are reformed by Jon and Neda by initialing inprisoning them his apartment room and teaching them Macro Philosophy.
The Hero Dies: Jon Lake dies at the end to "evolate" to move on to the next life to learn more.
Heroic BSOD: Jon has one of these when he finds out that his roommate Karl is his soul twin Carol in 2150 AD.
Heterosexual Life Partners: Jon and Karl being best friends, roommates, academic partners as well as soldiers in war clearly qualify. Not to mention, they are even soulmates in the future as incarnations of their current souls!
In Your Nature to Destroy Yourselves: Jon, Karl, the Macro Society and many other people know very well about this human tendency. The Macro Society however has learned to get rid of it.
Mind Over Matter: Jon uses telekinesis the most in particular for example lifting up a book.
Mind Rape: A team of powerful Micro Islanders with psychic powers does this to Jon in 2150 AD to stop him from rescuing Carol and prevent him from leaving his room.
No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: At a supermarket Jon comforts a crying girl but is then berated by her mother who thought he was attacking her. He then gets kicked out of the place by the manager.
Plot Twist: Jon later finds out that Karl his roommate, life long, friend, academic partner and fellow soldier is also his soul twin Carol in 2150 AD!
Psychic Powers: The people of the Macro Society posses these as well as a few Micro Islanders. Psychokinesis, telekinesis and clairvoyance are just a few of them!
Public Execution: Jon and his soulmate Carol tragically suffer one of these due to the Micro Government tying them to a rock to be at the mercy of a violent, sharp rock throwing micro crowd as punishment for their misendeavours on the island.
Reincarnation: Jon Lake learns in the Macro society that humans endlessly reincarnate.
Sanity Slippage: Averted since Karl accuses Jon of this at first when he tells him about the Macro Society. But then as Jon manages to prove it he sees he's telling the truth.
Sex Is Good: In the Macro Society sex is loving way to spend time with your soul twin for example.
Time Travel: Jon's astral dream which takes him to 2150 A.D. serves as this.
Torches and Pitchforks: Jon and Carol get executed by the people on Micro Island by being tied against a wall and having sharp rocks thrown at them.
Utopia: In 2150 A.D., rudimentary work has been automated and society spends its time in leisure. Besides artistic pursuits, everyone's daily work is to expand their awareness.
