  • Actor Allusion: Paul's "decorator" says to him "well, love has found Andy Hardy." Andy Hardy was a movie character from the 1930s played by Mickey Rooney, who portrays Mr. Yunioshi.
  • Fake Nationality:
  • Hey, It's That Voice!: In the movie Sally Tomato was played by Alan Reed -- the voice of Fred Flintstone. It's worth noting that the film came out around the same time the series started, so you're seeing Reed at the time he began playing Fred. The physical similarities are particularly obvious.
  • Iconic Character: Any "hip" store is likely to have a poster or a painting of Holly alongside those of Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, etc.
  • Old Shame: Both Richard Shepherd and Blake Edwards regretted casting Mickey Rooney in Yellowface. Mickey Rooney himself stated if he'd known that so many people would be offended, he would never have taken the role.
  • Playing Against Type: Audrey Hepburn as a call girl? Wait... YASSS!
